Vagabond, le voilier polaire rouge, est arrivé au Port Rhu hier soir à 18h30 : c'est le 1er bateau des Fêtes Maritime de Douarnenez ! En chemin, une courte escale à Camaret-sur-Mer fût l'occasion unique de retrouver Tara (ex-Antarctica) et La Boudeuse, chacun en partance pour de nouvelles aventures maritimes (photo).

 

L’équipe de Douarnenez 2004 a rencontré celle de Vagabond au salon nautique de Paris en 2002. La réussite du Passage du Nord-Est, route maritime qui relie l’Atlantique au Pacifique en longeant la Sibérie, inspira un rapprochement productif : depuis, France Pinczon du Sel, second de Vagabond, travaille également au sein de l’équipe des Fêtes, et par sa présence, Vagabond témoignera à sa manière autour du thème du festival : sur l’eau et dans l’exposition russe, avec film et débats animés par son équipage. Dans un mois, le 22 juillet, Vagabond quittera Douarnenez pour sa prochaine expédition scientifique au Spitsberg. En attendant, les préparatifs de Vagabond pour cet hivernage sont soutenus par quelques précieux partenaires. Accastillage BERNARD a, depuis 2002, décidé de lui apporter son soutien pour la préparation et le suivi technique de ses expéditions (cliquez pour lire le communiqué).

Vagabond, the red polar yacht, arrived yesterday evening at Port Rhu: she is the first yacht coming for the Douarnenez 2004 Boat Festival ! On her journey, she stopped in Camaret-sur-Mer where she met with Tara (ex-Antarctica, ex-Seamaster) and La Boudeuse, all ready to leave for new sailing adventures (see photo).

 

Douarnenez 2004's team met Vagabond's crew at Paris Boat Show in 2002. Her success through the North-East Passage, the northern sea route between Atlantic and Pacific oceans along siberian coast, was a start to a close co-operation. Since then, France Pinczon du Sel, first mate of Vagabond, is also working with Douarnenez 2004's team, and during the event, Vagabond will bring her experience around the theme of the Festival: film and talks by the crew at the Russian exhibition. In one month, on 22nd of July, Vagabond will leave Douarnenez for her next scientific expedition in Spitsberg. Before that, preparations for wintering are supported by some valuables partners. Accastillage BERNARD, since 2002, decided to offer needed equipment and technical follow-up for each expedition (read here).
